[[Manhattan Fish Market]]

Manhattan Fish Market
Location: Plaza Singapura.

I would say that the food was quite dissapointing as compared to Fish & Co although the serving was very generous.

We order the seafood pan for 2...both the grilled one and the flamming one. The flamming pan was too salty for all 4 of us.

On the other hand, I am really impressed with their service level. Rating their service 10/10. I hardly see such enthu and joy in service ppl (in F&B sector). The ambience is great too suitable for a romantic dinner!!

Overall rating: 7/10

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Method 1:
Ingredients:
6 small fresh shrimp (peeled) / or artifical crab meat 4 eggs 1.5 can (= 15 ounce) of chick broth (or 3 cups) 1.5 tsp soy sauce 1/2 chicken breast (deboned and diced) 6 shitake mushroom (softened and sliced) 1 tablespoon chopped scallions

Methods:
In a bowl, beat eggs lightly and add chicken broth and soy sauce. Skim foam from surface with a spoon.
Divide chicken, shrimp, mushroom among 6 small heat-resistant cups.
Pour soup and egg mixture over meat and vegetables to cover.
Garnish each cup with a few scallions.
If you have a steamer, steam the egg cups for 25 min over medium heat.

-----------------

Method 2:
2 eggs
1 cup chicken stock
1 tb sake
1/2 tb soya sauce
1/2 tb sugar

*Additional ingredients could include cut pieces of shitake mushrooms, chicken thigh meat, fish cake or crab stick.

1. Mix the ingredients together thoroughly and pour into container.
2. Boil water in the steamer till very very hot. Lower container ^ into the steamer and immediately turn fire down to low ^^. Close steamer and steam for 10-15 mins. Serve!
^ Do not cover the container. This will allow the custard to set and cook faster.
^^ Low fire is to ensure the custard sets smoothly.

[[Soon Tubu Jjigae (Korean spicy tofu stew)]]

Soon Tubu Jjigae
(Korean spicy tofu stew)
Serving: 4-6
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

INGREDIENTS

Oil 2 Tbs
Garlic minced 2 Tbs
Korean pepper powder 1 Tbs
Beef stock 4 cups
Cabbage kimchi shredded 1 cup
Soy sauce 1 Tbs
Soft tofu cut into 1" cubes 4 cups (2 lbs)
Clams chopped, with juice 1 cup
Scallions chopped 3-4 each
Sesame oil 1 T
METHOD
Basic Steps: Sauté → Simmer → Garnish
  1. Heat the oil over medium heat in a clay hotpot or large saucepan. Add the garlic and pepper powder and saute till garlic just starts to brown.
  2. Add the beef stock and kimchee and soy sauce. Bring to a boil and then lower heat and simmer 10-15 minutes till kimchee softens.
  3. Gently stir in tofu and clams with their juice. Adjust seasoning with soy sauce and Korean pepper. Simmer another 5-10 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle with scallions and drizzle with sesame oil. Serve piping hot with steamed rice.

VARIATIONS

Add some thin sliced pork or beef along with the garlic and pepper powder if you like.
Eliminate the clams and use vegetable broth if you'd like a vegetarian version.
Sometimes an egg is cracked over the dish at the end and allowed to poach in the stew.

NOTES
This is popular Korean comfort food and can warm up the coldest night.
Only Korean pepper powder is suitable for making this dish (and most Korean dishes). Other kinds just won't have the correct flavor.

Bin's Smoked Salmon. Taste great too!

Ambience was really romantic. Even the toilet was of vintage style too. And pricing wise was rather reasonable and affordable too. Both of us spend like $ 40 over for the above meal.

CheeseBaked Brocoril-not recommended.

In addition, their serving coordination was pretty bad, but the time i am almost done with my main course, then they serve us our side dishes.

Pricing wise, was rather reasonable and affordable.
